Are you going to be there? I still havn't decided if I'm doing the bank or boat. I really want to take the boat but I suppose it depends on what the weather does. No matter what though, I will be there!!!!
Oh by the way, in the meantime, don't you be catching all the fish from my hole! :)

How do you go about getting in this competition?? Are there alot of people that participate?? Where is it on the Big M ??
If its anything like the last couple years then yes there will be a ton of people. Its sponserd by pappys bait and tackle, in wellston. Don't know this years rules and they aren't always the same from year to year so you might want to call in advance.
I must warn you though I have the best eggs on the river!!!! Been saving them just for this contest!
See yah!

Just out of curiosity how do you cure your eggs. I have tried several methods some work and some don't. I did som steelhead loose eggs this past spring(I was hungry so I grilled one) with the salt and sugar method I read about in Michigan out of doors mag. Only prob is I lost the mag and the ratio of salt water and sugar.
The product I like is Milts magic spawn. It works really easy, and works quite well. If you do it right, the spawn will stay good for a couple of years. I can only find the stuff at Zubocs Sporting Goods in Taylor. If you call them, they will mail it to you with your Visa #. One suggestion, if you get it, try leaving it in the juice instead of draining it off, it will milk out faster, but it really works.
