Was watching Fishing with Roland Martin and him and a Pastor from Florida were fishing for Giant Grouper and Roland had a formula to get the weight of the fish.
L=Length, G= Girth, X= Number the variables equal out to.
Formula:
LxGxG = X. Then you take "X" and divide it by 800. X/800=Weight
Wondering if anyone has tried it and if its accurate.

i believe its relatively accurate for fish that are shaped like bass. there are other formulas for fish with other shapes. that being said, like all formulas that make generalities and assumptions, there is some margin of error.

Do you think this one would work for Gills? If not, know of a formula that would?
