Expect a few things for sure.....lots of jet skis and power boats. Hopefully you don't run into a hatch of mayflies, which is what i have experienced on two different occassions. I don't remember the specifics on when this occurred, but they made trolling almost impossible. Larvae casing all over the water, and insects all over the boat. Keep an eye on this board as you should see more and more posts throughout the spring/early summer. Tight Lines

In years past you could expect some great night time walleye fishing on Mullet, but the past few years I have heard that the fishing has been very poor. I usually go in the spring and fall for some great small mouth fishing. Well anyway there's Black lake near by it has always had better walleye fishing and in Cheyboygan below the dam you'll see all kinds of fish, I saw a sturgen down there once it looked like a small submarine.

Mullet Lake is a great fishery for many species...just depends what you're set up for targeting. What Crooked Dave says about that time of year is spot on, sometimes is seems like the powerboats are using you as a marker for a racetrack or something. You can be the only boat for a quarter mile and its like you've got a target on you.

You can always find a spot away from the crowd to wet a line, so I'm sure you'll have a great time. I love to fish this lake for fall perch when all of the crowds in the summer are gone. 65 degree day in October (although not normal), fall colors, a few beers, Tigers on the radio...fish on!....Can't wait.
