I just pick one of these spinning reels up at Dicks Sporting goods. The tag said the origional price was $99.00 and it was an sale for & $39.99. I figured for that price I should give it a try. I think quantum makes this reel exclusively for DSP. It has an aluminum body, 10 bbs, extra aluminum spool and feels reel smooth. I bought the 30 series and put it on my Med action 6'6" BPS IM6 Graphite Series spinning rod I purchased for 19.99 at the BPS Spring Classic. I plan on spooling it with 8lbs Gamma CoPolymer. It will be my soft plastic and jiging combo most likely. Has any one else every used or purchased this reel. Just curious. Thanks in advance.
Model Number: KDPIN30F
10 stainless-steel bearings
Computer-balanced rotor
All-aluminum body
Machined aluminum handle

Yup, it's a Dick's exclusive. I have a friend who works at Dicks and he speaks very highly of this reel. At $39.99 I don't think you can go wrong.

Thanks. I was starting to worry when I couldn't find any info on Quantum's website or any where else for that matter. It seems real nice. I figured at $39.99 for and aluminum reel it was worth a shot.

I saw the same reel, had the same questions, was thinking about a similar setup. This thread answered my questions.:)

They have a Quantum Inferno baitcaster for the same price also. I heard some bad things about BC though. I don't know too much about baitcasters so I couldn't elaborate. All I know is people said to stay away from the Baitcaster. Weird braking switch or something.

I got the same spinning reel for Christmas this winter and have gotten to use it in several different conditions. First I used it at the Hot Ponds spooled with fire line. Worked great, smooth, and very dependable. I also spooled the spare with 4lb vanish for browns down in Arkansas. It has an amazing casting distance and I have not seen a single loop or tangle. Overall a great real, I wish I would have asked for 2!!
