hello. i bought a 21ft bass boat last year. i would love to learn how to fish detroit river. if one of my sportsman brothers would like to show me how to walleye fish the river i would pay for gas and for lessons to learn a little about the techniques on the river, on your boat before i take mine out on the river. I usually fish inland lakes for bass. Please, Please help?

Call Captain Nick Homayed. It will be worth your investment. Trust me.

I fished with Jon Bondy a couple of years ago on Lake St. Clair smallmouth fishing and on the Detroit River. Both trips were great we landed over 50 bass and 40walleyes with 5 over 8lbs. Great guy and knows what he is doing. I have fished the Saginaw River since I was ten and was still nervous about going on our own down to the Detroit. Mostly because of traffic but it wasn't to bad, the Lowrance I-way I bought helped. But the best practice is to do it yourself in areas that are not so crowded so you don't get nervous. From what I have seen in three trips this week mostly everyone fishing for the most part has the right idea. People shockingly are much more friendly than at home on the river or on Saginaw Bay. Since you probably have a good bowmount it should just be a matter of practice, learning which way to point. Usually point into the wind and just chase your line.

Bondy is a great choice. Only problem is, he is on the BassMaster Elite Series and won't be back until May. Not sure what his schedule looks like for May. If you can get him, book him.
