Just heard on the radio that he's out 6-8 weeks.

He had sucessfull surgery to remove the clot. Gonna be very hard to replace those 17 wins for a few months.

They will still be ok, They did without Morroth last year, I just hope he can come back and help us with a pennant race.

I think we will be surprised as far as what Chad Durbin does in Rogers spot in the rotation. He has a good arm and will give solid innings. As far as rogers in the dugout he will be back in there soon for motivation so I wouldnt worry about that. The Tigers have been ready for the season to start for two weeks now, there primed.Rogers is known as a quick healer so even though it was a pretty big surgery to remove the clot,I think we may see him back sooner. If not let him rest it up for the pennant run.Lets test those young arms. When he does come back it would be like making a trade to get a pitcher in the middle of the season, all the while your giving experience and depth to one of our young arms. The tigers will be fine because Leyland says so.Wow,Verlanders curveball was wicked today against the Yanks, man I hate those pinstripers!!!

Arterial clots are very serious, he could have lost his arm. The Brachial and axillary arteries that had the clot could have cut off all blood flow to the arm and in a very short time the muscles and tissue would have become ischemic (lacking oxygen) and he the tissue could have died. thank goodness that they recognized this right away and got it taken care of...

I really feel bad for him (even though he's due 8 million for this year anyway). I mean he pitched lights out in the playoffs last year and yet didn't get the World Series ring, and now he might not make it back. Let's be honest here, rehabing a 42 year old arm might not happen.

Kenny was my favorite Tiger from the beginning of the year last season. He has the heart of a lion, I bet he makes it back.

Who is filling in for him? They have a lot of options. Ledezma could surprise a lot of people if he gets a consitant chance, Miner did well for us last year, not lights out stuff but he can eat innings and keep them in it, Don't know Durbin but I have heard good things.

Lets not forget that Tom Glavine had the same thing last year. He came back strong and hes the same age I believe. If not the same age hes pretty old. I hope he can make it back in 8 weeks. Even if he dont I think the 8 mil he is due is still worth the knowledge he can give these young guys. Go Tigers!

They are going to give Durbin the chance to fill the void. He has earned it. He is no rookie and has alot of inning under his belt. His play last year and spring training earned him a spot on the team this year. He will be a good replacement as Durbin can eat up innings and use a variety of pitches. He doesn't have great stuff but knows when to throw what and has managed to find the plate often. He had 3.11 ERA last year for Toledo. I kept wating for the Tigers to call him up and they kept passing up on him:rolleyes:

I'm glad Rodgers is going to be O.K.. Very serious stuff. I hope he can make a comeback but it's going to be tough road I would think.

If Durbin doesn't get it done look for Ledezma to start. He has great stuff. He just still isn't quite consitant enough. I thought he solved those issues in the minors as he looked great when he was brought up but he has struggled to find the plate more than he should. He could be a real good one.

They could bring up Minor but I don't think they will. IF they burn thru Ledezma & Durbin there could be a call down to A for some guy name Miller:lol:

Thank goodness we have the deepest organization in pitching. Seems odd doesn't it!:D

IMO, I don't see Rogers coming back. First off, after that surgery, the 1st requirement is that he can't move the arm for 1 month. Then he has to begin a 2 to 3 month rehab program. Does that sound like 8 to 12 weeks to you guys? The Tigers are just as shady with their injury reports as the Red Wings. Hmm, coincedence? Remember almost 6 weeks ago now when Henrik Zetterberg was listed out for 2 to 3 weeks???:rolleyes: For a herniated disc in his spine!:tdo12: Same thing here. Sorry to be a downer fellas, but don't get your hopes up of ever seeing Kenny pitch again. I really hope he can come back, but it would be alot easier of a rehab for a 25 year old, than a 42 year old.:(

I agree,, on top of that Kenny has a history of pitching GREAT his first year with a new team and contract years, then drop off after that. If he did pitch this year and history was any indication,,,, he probably only woulda won 10 to 12 games anyway.
