Ahhh, Stockard's. Quite the obsession. Are you suggesting that I get in as many orders before I get married? Explaining the fly tying thing to someone else doesn't sound like too much fun!

Ah the beauty of J stockards...

I will go one further... my fiance has actually taken an interest in the whole fly tying and fly fishing thing! I am letting her go at her own pace and interest level and not pushing her at all... seems to be working!

My finance' just place a monster order last night. This morning, she whispers in my ear "I placed a large order to replenish our supplies and everything you had wished for while at the table was on the list".

I don't know how any addicts like us could be with a non-tyer or flinger of the fly. How does one ever see the other if it's not by the vice or on the stream?:lol:

Quick question. I just started tying in the last couple months and am in the process of purchasing all the necessities. I have an order in with Hareline Dubbing but have not heard of Stockards. Is this a reputable supplier that a lot of you guys use? Thanks for any info.

On a side note. I've been fly fishing the Manistee since I was big enough to wade and finally decided to get into the art of fly-tying. So far I love it!

I certainly buy a lot from Stockard's (http://www.jsflyfishing.com/). They have a good selection at a decent price.

Stockard has the best prices I have ever seen on most items I use, and is very competetive on everything. They also don't try to make shipping a profit center ala Cabelas, their freight charges are very reasonable. And they also don't try that Cabelas scam to get you to pay them extra to get the service you already deserve. I bet the order I placed last night will be here when I get home from work tomorrow.

Did I mention that I am disenchanted with Cabelas shipping charges and service? :lol: ;)
