Is anyone fishing the river at Port Huron yet? Was wondering if the river is fishable by boat and is the launch open on the Balck River?

My buddy caught some fish and they were getting browns in spots.
The Coho should show up again this year as well.
Perch might even be an option.
A close friend and DNR Biologist says the Emerald Shiners should be in great shape numbers wise and that could lead to some fantastic shore fishing.
Call Andersons Pro bait for daily reports as well.

The water has to warm up on the bottom to near 38* before fish begin actively feeding. Not to say i stray cant be caught but I fish this river daily and drive around checking spots from shore where the shore fisherman fish at.The guys fishing behind the water plant using live bait didnt even catch anything today.I was up near the bridge and didnt do any good there. We couldnt fish yesterday due to ice near the US shoreline. The water is crystal clear and that need to change as well.We do best when the water has a slight stain to it or even a little murky.Pretty windy down on the river but still a nice day.
