Ok this is my first spring back into bass fishing. I did some late summer and fall fishing last season. When does the bass fishing usually start on LSC? I live in the west side of the lake (clinton township). I usually go in at the South River road launch area. When do they put the docks back out? Thanks for any info. I am just ready to get out there and try the new gear out.

unfortunately too many people feel like its open season whenever/whereever they want. heck, even when the season didn't open til real late there were guys out there fishing big ole tubes and spinnerbaits.

I was out jigging for walleye this past weekend and as I drifted over the shallows on the south end of Grassy Island, I decided to throw a body bait. I was thinking I might catch a walleye in there.
I stopped doing it cuz I didn't want to appear like I was casting for bass.
I guess you could look at it two ways: 1) continue to throw the plug and if a CO approaches, argue the point that I was NOT bass fishing (and hope I win). or 2) discontinue doing it and avoid the HINT of impropriety. I chose the latter.

I was not implying that I was going before the season. I was just trying to get some info. I will not go before the season, otherwise I would have just went without asking.

While jigging for walleyes last April, we caught 15-20 very nice smallies on the Detroit River, right in front of the UAW building and RenCen.
I'm not sure if they'll be there when the season opens, but it's worth a shot.
