3 Lake Trout this morning out of lexington, all right near the harbor. Saw 2 other boats with similar success. Heard of a few silver fish caught on Saturday but I dont know where or how. We were using body baits and spoons. All 3 went back immediatly. Kinda new to fishing this early so if anyone has any tips on getting browns/steelhead please share. Thank You

Seems to be the trend around Southern Lake Huron lately...we had success on Silver early after ice out last year, probably will try a couple of times this Spring...closer drive than the West side fr those after work trips...did you fish north or south of the harbor?? Sanilac has been better to us in the past, fishing a few miles north of the harbor..

We fished straight out and south a little bit. We didnt go very far, maybe thats why we were catching lakers. An older guy pulled up when we were leaving and said that his buddy fished lakeport with no luck. I kinda was thinking about going to port sanilac as well. Its worth a try.

I fished off the rocks at the harbor yesterday evening and caught 4 big lakers on big shiners. I just bottom fished. The smallest one was 6lbs and the biggest was 9lbs. I was hoping one would of been something I could have kept but it was alot of fun on 6lb line. I will be in my boat next weekend. Keep the reports coming, I will hope for browns and anything silver next week.

i heard that lexington was getting coho as of saturday. the lakers don't surprise me, they were like that last spring. i don't think its going to get any better. the smelt are not even running yet in the SCR.

Spring fishing in southern Lake Huron can be productive, as the fish are packed tight into shallow water, i.e, its the fish are more densely packed, therefore, easier to find catchable fish. Pass you bait infront of more fish, catch more fish. Once the fish start to head out to deeper water, finding them on the x, y, and z planes becomes exponentially more difficult. Get them why they are close to shore...

I hope you guys are fishing with an outboard and not your big gas guzzlers. We always get a cold front in before the 2nd week of April. We have had to put lightbulbs  in our dog house and a electric blanky around our outdrive.
Were waiting aleast 1,2,5 or so more hours before we put in.... HaHAA LOL I see the ramps are still up in Port Sanny.
