CASTMASTER 5000

Decided to go pull some wire since I could finally leave the house because the pups arrived. Fished for about 2 hours with no results. I was just about to pack it in when suddenly...:yikes:
MY DAMN SHANK BROKE!!!
Goy snaged on probably the only rock in the sturgeon hole! Lost my weight and 2 brand new rapala's. Should've stayed home!
The water was 35 degrees and way too clean. Could see the bottom in 12fow. Mud-line is completely gone. I'm not going again this weekend!
Waiting for warmer water. Talked to a few other guys who went out and one guy got one fish handlining.

I was coming up the drop-off when I got snagged. The water was flat like glass so I waited around a bit in hopes for my lures to float to the top but my middle lead was 20' and I was in 23fow. Needless to say they never re-surfaced. And not cheap shank. Didn't buy it I made it. Ok now you can tell me how it broke because I'm the one that made it.

Man, I have been watching the Deadliest Catch, and when they lose some gear, they get out the grappling hook and start dragging bottom.
Looks like the handliners might need to do the same.
Your stuff is still out there, the sinker is stuck to the bottom and not going anywhere.
The Rapalas are still attached to the leaders unless someone else gets to them before you. ;)
