When reading flow charts, I think that I know what the Discharge Table is but if any of you could explain it that would be great...Also when do you consider a river "blown"????
The discharge table is the cubic feet of water passing through/over the dam. The gage height is a the water height at a consistant place at the dam.
Every river/dams readings are different as to when a paticular spot is blown out. You need plot them yourself for the spots you fish and or work with your buddies to do this. What I mean is that when you go on fishing trips, note the conditions and the discharge/gage height at the time. You'll have to be there when it's blown out and make a note of flow and height. Or check the stream flow site and make a note when others you trust tell you it's blown out. One other consideration is the trend of the flows. When they first shoot up after a rain, it will be worse than if we have a high flow over a week or so. Once the flow levels out, even if it's high, the river will start to clear over time. Hope this helps.
