Some of the posts in this forum inspired me to get out on my Bridgestone and do some riding. I just rode around town and took some local trails along the river.

The problem is, my butt wasn't ready and I feel a bit tender when I sit. I get this every Spring after the first day or two of riding.

Anyone else "enjoying" the pain this week?

Yeah, I finally broke down and got one of the seats with the heavy duty gel inside of it to help with that.

Yeah, I'm kinda sore too. My problem is that the seat isn't wide enough and not shaped right. I have the gel and got the widest they had. When I have my seat tilted so that I don't slide off the front, it presses up hard in a rather sensative area. (If everything isn't arranged just right, I don't ride for long! ;) ) I've tried tilting my seat forward again, but then I slide forward and my weight goes there anyways. Anybody know of any way to combat this?

I already know your problem Guys!
TAKE OFF YOUR UNDIES!!!!!!
You can't ride a bike for very long before the seam of your GRUNS start to move over to wear you raw.
Get yourselves some bike shorts (take pictures for Shoeman). Don't go to Wall Mart for your bike shorts. Go to the local bike shop and get some good ones that will soak up the stank and sweat from your crack. Make sure they fit nice and snug (again the pics for Shoe) . You can put some thin shorts over them so you don't look like a Grape Smuggler.
If you guys can't afford them I got some used ones for you.

Chad is right about the bike shorts! I won't take a ride without them. And I definetely wear a pair of light shorts over them! Once you try them, you too will be a believer! My **** still gets a little sore at the beginning of the season but the padding in the bike shorts help. I also have a gender specific saddle that puts less pressure on the valuables. Check with your local shop and give one a try. A comfortable seat is important, but one of those overstuffed couch pillow type seats can sometimes be less comfortable then the well designed cross country seats on the market.....try before you buy.
