Was wondering if anyone has a map showing depths of water off singing bridge? Have only surf fished there, but want to troll from alabaster area to whitestone point, and would like any info I can find. Only have 14' boat, so won't be out far. Will be there the weekend of 13th-16th for outing that weekend. Hope to get some steel, browns or walleye, and maybe shore fish for smelt/walleyes at night. Thanks for any info......Ralph

I put this card in my Lowrance H2O and it works great. Although you can't totally trust it. My bent prop told me not too!

Ralph,

Here is a map page that is awsome for geting the depths and contours of the Bay and all lake Huron. You just need to enlarge/reduce the map with the controls and the red arrows in the corners until you get to where you want to be.

Be Careful from just North of Alabaster down to the mouth of the Drain. There are quite a few reefs in that area. Some of them come up pretty fast out of deep (10-16ft.) water. If there's a chop you can usually see them with the waves breaking over the top or sometimes there's ice stacked on top..

I know that area very well and yes there are many rocky shoals that come up fast from deeper water. South of the river it's pretty much the same thing. You can usually see them by the way the waves break or by the brown color in the water. It's always fun when trolling 10-20 FOW and it comes up to 2-4 FOW and your lures get hung up on the bottom. :(

The chart posted only shows one of the many shoals between the loading dock and river mouth, so keep looking for them at all times.

How deep are you running your lures? Mine rarely get deeper than 2 or 3 feet.

The Whitestone Point area is Rocky also. I try and stay out in at least 15 FOW and set my low water alarm @ 8 ft. You can go for 15 FOW to 3 in a heartbeat. The maps are a GR8 tool, but the wind and waves keep this area in a constant state of change. I troll it with a 22 ft Islander. When you get within a 1/2 mile of Whitestone Point start swinging out.
