Question...

I'm getting ready to buy some rod holders and I've been leaning towards the ones made by pursuit.

Has anyone used these that can give me some feedback before I shell out the cash for some?

Thanks!

Note that Pursuit changed their name last year to Traxtech. Here is their new website http://www.traxstech.com/index.html .

The metal rodholders, tracks, etc., are all excellent quality. You should avoid the plastic (Lexan) rodholders if you are going to fish for salmon, especially if you plan to use Dipsey's.

Bert's are equal in quality and similar in price.

Get the good stuff. It will last a long time. You'll be glad that you spent the extra $$.

I have the Pursuit track system with the black plastic holders and use them salmon fishing with dipsys with no problem...

I have my boat setup with the Traxtec system. I like the Berts racheting rod holder for dipsy divers better. It makes getting the rod out of the holder easier when a King smashes your dipsy rig.

I went to the Grand Rapids show this past weekend and they had vector, traxstech, and big john all within about 100 foot of each other. I have to admit, the vectors really caught my eye!!!!!!! I liked the one handed operation and they appeared to be quite solid. Rick

We use the pursuit track system with a gimble mount, and the adjustable rod holders. Good solid rod holders, with more adjustment then the big jons. When we are done for the day, we can simply pull the gimble mount out of the rod holder, and open up the side of the boat. WOrks nice

Yes, the gimbal mounts are a nice clean installation.
