For the last two hours i sat and watched hundreds of giant perch nothing could have been smaller than 10". I dropped everything i had and nothing they would swim right up to it and stare at it. But they were all big and juicy and alot of them i couldnt take it no more so i left.

Did you try old, dead, stinky minnows??? All the big ones I got yesterday wanted that dead minnow. It was like they would take it on the fly,,, just sat the rod there and waited for it to "bend".

I've been smaking them on a haili's tipped with a minnow head for a few days now...
Fished S of the spillway... off of harbor club today....caught some dinks..stayed in close 2 to 4FOW....Shore ice is shot. Rest of it wasn't that great either..... Lots of gas pockets and open holes in the shallows...Washed the boots on the way back in again...

 I read that post and i was thinking damn i dont have no dead minnows.
Bummed out and depressed thinking how im gonna drag my bucket back accross this very unsafe ice patch filled with fat hogs ive been waiting for alll season. The wife walks in sees me all flustered on what todo and reads the post and says welll i just dumped a dozen or so minnows out in the garden that were in the bottom of an empty garbage can. I ran outside looked in my beatiful black soil that the most precious greens grow out of and what to my belief do i seeee. A DOZEN DEAD STINKY MINNOWS. I kneeled down and said a prayer. Lord jesus thank you and i will by god catch those hogs in the morning. And please be with me and keep me safe AMEN. There is somebody out there listening to me and im ready. :fish: :fish: :fish: HA HAAA HAAA HAAA The wife says ive gone mad.:dizzy:  :dizzy:  :dizzy:

newer member here and first time posting. was able to meet up with four of the relatives this afternoon off the metro jet ski ramp. i got out about 4:45 and left around 7. good action the whole time. threw back about 30 small ones and kept 20. the rest of the crew fished a little longer than me and ended up with 42, 30, 25, and 10. 30 yards off shore in 3 feet of water. watched some people try to go in by the beach, ice was to thin there. be careful if you go. the first 10 yards are bad, the rest was about 6 inches. seen some nice pearch in the hole, they just wouldn't bite consistently:rant: . my uncle was in the same spot yesterday with his bro, each had a limit by 7 p.m.

Was also at the jet ski ramp this evening. Dink City!! People had 5 & 6 inch perch laying all over the ice. Too small for me. Probably caught 50 of those though!. Good Luck, be careful... ice is breaking loose at the ramp.

Have anything to report??? Yeah, that ice was deffinently getting bad Tuesday, every step i would hear this stressing sound under me, very weird. This heavy rain we are getting right now will be the end to that ice. I just hope the river is clear within a week.

Not really,,, I didn't give it very long out at my spot. I got scared,, fog rolled in, I couldn't see anything. The wind kicked up a little and a funny current started. On top of that,, the spot I was at lost about 6 or 7"s of ice from the day before.
