i talked to a local motel operator up there on Monday...ice was fine then...dont think its changed much...headed up for one last shot at the Smelt on St. Pattys

we were up there on the 2nd and there was about a foot of ice in 50 FOW (.3miles off shore)

It was really slow for us off Lobbs Sat. eve. Four people, three hours, three smelt. Ouch!

That sounds alot like green lake smelt fishing this year. Havnt decided yet if I am going to try one last ice fishing trip or just start looking for the steelies.
