Limited this afternoon in short order once I found them. Sorry no pics. Bucket full of 8-10". Drilled 5 holes and hole hopped in 3-4 FOW. DNR was watching me for a while and decided to come visit. Nice guy, he checked my license and my catch (low 30"s at the time) shot the bull for a few and he left. Filled my tag 45 min. after he left. Continued to cull for another hour, made sure I had no more than 50 in the bucket when I left the ice.

Made my way back to the truck and my buddy the Man in Green pulled up and asked how I did. Told him I have my 50. Mind if I count?? He said. Have at it, Sir. He counted them up and was surprised by the exact count, and complemented me on my catch. Said, "If everyone was like you, I'd be out of a job". Feel like I got a gold star on my forehead for the day!

Still plenty of ice, at least 12-14 " in tight. The launch is getting mushy though. Hope it holds out through tomorrow. I'll be at it late A.M., Early P.M.

I'll second that. There were plenty of open water spots Sunday so I would bet it is really bad now. The only chance would be in front of the bar.

How was the clarity of the water at Crocker road? Is there safe ice to fish inside of Beaconscove? Thanks.

Yesterday, I fished over a mile out without a shanty but I could see my jig about 3' down. There were also a few guys fishing inside the cove that I could see.

Great! In shallow with the group right out in front or toward Gino's?

I fished with the pack today to the south side of the launch. Brought home 40 nice fish 8-10's. Could see bottom in 4' till the wind kicked up. Nice day to be on the ice, think I got sunburned.

Ice at the launch is breaking up pretty bad, won't be around much longer.

I saw the "pack" there as I walked out this morning about 9:30ish,,,, were you out there then?? I saw fish floppin' on the ice,, I couldn't tell if there was any size to 'em, so I kept walkin'.

Didnt do to bad. Didnt see a fish till the sun got low. Then they turned on got a dozen nice fish 8" to 10". 3 to 4 feet of water. I had four holes spread out about 20 feet apart when they would quit i would move and bam there they were. Tried out about 1/4 mile nothing all fish were in shallow. Ill be out bright and early tomorrow morning gotta put a plank across tho to get on the ice tho we had to wade thru a foot of water to get back on land.

OUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED DEFINATELY. But ill be out there till the very last spec of ice.:)

Fished off the DNR launch today also.... Got out around 12:30 pm. Lots of dinks  Got a couple of 8 inchers by switching to jiggin raps...
A couple of guys said the bigger fish were coming earlier in the morning like Muskrat said....
Left around 1:30, ran up to Anchor Bay...:(
Went back to the DNR launch around 4:00ish and dragged our shanty out this time so we could drop the Aqua View down to see what was actually down there...;)
Fish cam showed: LOTS of fish down there, had SWARMS of perch and bluegill run right up to the baits "on the drop" and then stop and stare them down real hard
Did not see anything over 9-10 inches. Spoons and beads and raps did poorly. Teardrops tipped with minnow heads or wax worms, and tube jigs tipped the same way did best. I REALLY think a good ole' "magic rig" would have done well with the bigger fish but I checked my pockets and there was not a wiggler to be had
Anyway, that's about it... saw 3 "bikes" come on/off the launch early in the afternoon but by 7:00 pm, the launch and the ice was getting pretty honeycombed.

Be safe out there!!!
