View Full Version : Password
I got a virus in my computer and got it fixed, now anytime I mant to post a message it asks for my password. I never had to before, it automatically filled in the blank. How can I get it to go back to the way it was? Chad.

This machine is smarter than it looks. In this day and time, anyone named "Chad" is automatically asked for a password. No doubt your virus is the reason the votes didn't get counted. Sorry, I just couldn't resist it. You've probably already received enough thoughless comments like this one. Carry on. :)

If you check some of the other messages you will see they discuss "security features" or "preferences", or "internet options" depending on your browser and version. Basically this site previously left information on your computer so that it would recognize you when you returned. One of the ways this is done with "Cookies".
You had to re-enter your password this time, but as long as you had your preferences or security options set to Medium security, and have your cookies enabled, the site should recognize you the next time you return.
I guess I should ask you what browser and version you are using, but if it was working for you before you corrected/eliminated your virus, you should be able to reset your options to their previous state and everything should be cool. If you have trouble, let me know your browser software and version, and I will tell you the menu sequence to get there.
Hope I am being clear, coherent and correct enough, I am a little sleepy.

Go into your forum preferences and check the box telling the system to remember your name and password for a year.
And where would i find that? I'm not too experienced with these things. Chad.

Go to the main forums page and click on "preferrences".
