Heard somebody took a dip on carter (north of hastings) yesterday. Its a small lake with a little bit of current. Had a lot of slush all year, so other lakes in the area might be better. I'm done though around here. Anybody can be the first guy to fall through, the second one's the idiot.

As outdoors people we all should know better when the ice is safe and when to stay off, yet every year there are always reports of people getting abondoned on ice flows or falling in. I don't understand why people take such a huge risk for entertainment purposes. I really worry that this just helps fuel the impression of hunters and fisherman being a bunch of foolish people.
