I was recently in Walgreens and purchased a cheap digital camera for
$10.00. There clerk said it was junk, but for 10 bucks I said what the heck.
It works great for hunting and fishing for me. It is only 1 1/2 by 2 1/4
inches and does not have any fancy options like flash or focus, but if your
afraid to take your families good digital camera out on the ice and drop it in the hole, this could be the camera for you. You need to own a computer
to use it because it does not have an sd card. It comes complete with the software and usb cord. Kind of cheesy but it does work.

Something to be said for the inexpensive cameras for the type of use that you are talking about. Not sure I would be happy about not having a memory card but what the heck, worth a try like you said.

What I do is put my point and shoot camera into a small plastic bag to keep dust, dirt, and water off of it. Then I keep the camera in a deep pocket on my coat so it is unlikely to fall out. I take it out when it is time to get a picture of someone catching a fish through the ice or of any fishing scene that catches my attention. I did a search on the camera and come up with what looks like an identical camera from a different company. Will email or pm you the link.

I looked at some of the pictures in your gallery. Are they from the camera? The smelt picture had good exposure.

Take a look in his photo gallery. I think that the pictures of the ice fishing equipment are with the camera.

I used the camera for my Avatar and the smelt pic's. The other pic's are
from my good camera.

all most every digital has a 1.3 , I use 3 cheap o's 1.3 meg's that are all used on model airplane to take shots from the air and they are good, all digital with out flash don't take worth a darn with out good light but with good light they do as well as the bigger 2's and 3's, the only diffronce is the size of the photo is limited to size, a 1.3 is good up to 8 X 10 at a 1200 size or High setting if it has one and most have that
heres a photo taken with a 1.3 meg that your camera is rated at, the house in the top of the photo are aprox 1500 feet away and I made a 8X10 print out of it, Most people don't need above a 2 Mep or 3 at the most unless you are a pro and need more pixels, people think they need a 5 meg when they are just taking snapshots, a 2 to 3 Meg is all that is needed.

I think $10 to keep one in the tackle box is not bad, even a bad picture of a lifetime fish is good. But I would not use it as an everday camera. Look for a Flash, and probably 3 mega pixels and maybe a zoom, and extra memory slot.

Get that expensive camera wet 1 time and you'll see why it's better to take a cheapy with ya, I've done it - had a nice Cannon digital, that got knocked into a minnow bucket 1 time - Done for. For fishing I bought a - VUPOINT- from Walmarts for about $22 bucks - takes pretty good pic's. It doesn't have a card, but will keep pictures on it all day if you use good batteries and it will take any wheres up to 76 pic's in low-Res and 19 in Hi-Res. I use ni-cad rechargeables, whick keep a pretty good charge and much cheaper in the long run that all those throw out batteries. For a cheapy it works pretty good - I'd feel much better dropping $20 in the water than a couple hundered, I wish I had figured that out before hand.
