Took my lumps from the lake this weekend. Started at the south end thinking perch should be moving in, moved about 5 times without marking a fish. Finally concede to my local fishing buddies and head into deeper water. Set up in 38-42 fow just north of the hardwoods. Buddy one got a 14" perch, buddy two got two keeper walleye, buddy three got two keeper walleye, one throw back walley and a 10" perch - everything came on tip ups. I got laughed at for the skunk:sad: There's still plenty of ice up there - 15+ inches of solid stuff with a few inches of cloudy stuff on top. The snow is starting to settle, but there are areas of pretty deep (6"+) slush. 4wd quads and sleds didn't seem to have trouble getting around.
That's all I have to say about that!

I hate Hubbard Lake fishing in the winter. I can't wait for that ice to turn to water..

Trying to decide wether to stay here (Muskegon) and try to get out on the boat (ice may be a problem) or dig the ice gear back out and head to Hubbard. I haven't heard much on ice conditions or fishing success lately...any input would be appreciated...Ed...Encore????
