Every once in a while a message appears on my screen that says" and error has occured while running scripts", first of all what does it mean, and why is it doing this? It only started to show up after the new server was installed. It doesn't seem to bother anything, all I do is click no, and it goes away. Any guesses??

Probably referring to Java scripting. It enables things to build within a given screen without having to jump to, or load a different page.
If you have security settings on your browser set to high, you usually have java scripting turned off. I believe some of the advertising that Steve has set up to help pay for this site includes banners that employ javascripting.
I could be wrong, Steve should be able to tell you if he is back from hunting.

Toto, I need to know what browser and what version of that browser you are using to try and fix. I'm guessing you are using Netscape 4.X. Let's see if I'm right.

I dno't know, I'm just a computor idiot, who knows sorta how to type. It really isn't a problem, it just pops up, and I close it out, and its fine. I'm not too worried about it, but if I can find out I'll let you know. Maybe there is a place I can find that info on my computor somewhere?

toto,
in whatevre browser you are using look at your top menu. It will probably have "File" to the far left and "Help" to the far right. Click on "Help". Within that menu you will see "About Internet Explorer" or "About Netscape Navigator" or whatever. Click on that and it should tell you your version number (4.1, 5.0 etc.)
Good luck
Amos

Okay lets try this, Internet Explorer 4.0 is that what I need? Thanks for the help.

Toto, it would be best if you upgrade to IE 5.0 at least. I don't even have a copy of IE 4.0 around to try and recreate your problem. The latest version of IE is 5.5 and I do recommend an upgrade if you know how to do it. It is free and can be downloaded from Microsoft. By the way Amos thanks for your help. Do you want to be moderator of this forum? Your responses are really helping me out ( I can't always get to everybody).

I don't consider myself an expert, but I would be honored to help any way I can.
I am on the site just about every day.
Sure.

The problem with that is this is a work computor (don't worry they don't mind too much), so therefore I have no control over it. As I said, it isn't a big deal, and I can live with it, it doesn't do it all the time, but when it does, it just close it and everything is fine.

Is there anybody else out there using IE 4.0 that is having these problems. I don't have IE 4.0 installed on any of my machines anymore and would hate to re-install it over IE 5.X.

Steve:

I get the same message as Toto gets sometimes. I just click no as well. I am also using IE 4.0. I notice it mostly when the advertisements pop up on my screen. I may upgrade to IE 5.5 if it's free.

Does it happen with the advertisements that pop up on their own window only?

Yeah Steve, thats when it happens. Whenever the Haystack toys ad comes up, I get the bad scripts message. As I said before, I just click no and it goes away. Just a bit annoying is all.
