There were two trucks out on the ice today at Gino's plus some ATVs. I was not too far from shore and there was still 12" of clear ice - at least where I was.

Fished all day today at Metro just South of the jet-ski ramp in 2 fow. Still have +12" of ice but the top 2-3" is going fast. Already mushy and starting to honeycomb in areas. There are gas pockets (1 foot to 2 foot in dia) just before the first houses you get to while following the shorline. Look for them around the large snow piles on the ice. The point at metro is wide open as is the lake all the way down toward nine mile tower. Lots of ice was breaking and moving today and yet there were peeps 1/2 mile out with a offshore wind??? Not me. Try in tight before you go all the way to Ginos. I caught 150++ perch today and kept 40 nice fish. Saw Pike, Carp, Bass, B-gills and Perch. Hope the ice lasts another week...we'll see after Tuesday (high in 50's). Good luck.

Yup....was at that yellow house today and almost went thru more than one hole while walking. I'll not go back to that area for sure. I was surprised at the guy on the quad flying all around out there....lucky he did'nt hit a hole.
