Reeds Lake

I was on Reed yesterday and today, Crappie are there but not you have to work for them, kept 18 on Friday and 14 today. Fishing in 36 foot of water in front of firebarn using 1/8 oz Forage minnow tipped with spikes. If you want to get out for the last time you better go this weekend, I think the ice will go in a hurry along shore. There is still 16 inches of ice but the top 4 inches is real soft and honeycombed down to about 8 inches. Time to get the boat ready:) .

I made it out today from about 1300 until 1530. I must've put a couple miles on searching for them, and ended up finding fish about 500' from where my truck was parked! Got into a bunch of small gills in 22 fow out in front of the PD. They were all on the small side, but it's late and as such, I'm not very proud right now!!;)

I also found this guy roaming around about half way up the column. Lots of fun on 2# line!!

I'll be out again tomorrow. Hopefully the fish will be a little bigger!

I also ran into J-Rod out there. You do any good??

I went out for a hour before I had to go to work, B&D was coming off the water and caught them all so, I did get any. :lol:

Not much luck for me, maybe 10 small ones and the one decent crappie that B&D didn't catch :lol:. All in all, a tough year on the ice for me.

I made it out with Ice T last night and got into a good mess of specks after dark. Left with 14 fish and all but two were in the 8-9 inch range. Not too bad for what might have been the last hurrah.:mad:
