I have a 1978 14' sea nymph and the plywood on the transom is starting to dry rot a little. Can that be replaced with 3/4" wolmanized plywood or is there some special plywood for marine use, and if so where can it be bought? thanks!

i think new wolmanized lumber will react with aluminum of the hull. you can spend a heap load on marine lumber or simply get a good AB grade plywood. more plys the better. and put a good weather resistant seal on it and be done!

Hey Lipripper if you need some plywood for that I may have some here at the house 3/4"because if you go to buy some you may have to buy a full 4x8 sheet and that will be more than you need.. If you wanna come by on sunday we can take a look and see if I have any your welcome to it, I know your just down the road call me 810-329-4182 after 6pm tonight.. Cya Slick aka Brent

Lipripper, it will cost a few more bucks, but it will last alot longer if you apply W.E.S.T. System Epoxy to the plywood. Then pre-drill and seal any holes you have to put in the transom.

Sealing the wood what ever you use is the biggest issue. I had to screw 2 3/4 in boards but took time to seal and reseal.
