Hey Walleye, I am looking for the same ice condition report
for Lake Cadillac amd Mitchell. Can a 4 wheeler even work
with all the snow/water/ice crust?? Curoius to see if the
fish are even being cooperative??:dizzy:

The word slush comes to mind. I was on a lake West of there today and when I came off there was about a foot of slush. With the warmer temps coming this weekend it is only going to get worse. On lake Missaukee there are several shanties sitting by the swim area off the ice and there are still a few out aways on the lake. I may go out there tomorrow and try it if I get time.

The last time I fished Cadillac was a week ago before we got that rain, there was a lot of snow on top so I'm curious too if its going to be a struggle getting out there. I've gone up there a few times this winter and done pretty good, although last time it was slow going but still came home with some keeper crappies.

Fished Cadillac yesterday, what a workout drilling through almost 3' of layered ice on the north side of the lake. Close to shore the slush was bad in spots, I have over-sized tires on my quad and got it stuck. Once you got about 30 yards out, it was all solid and fine, but they are expecting rain also so its gonna be walking only soon, but it will be a while before they lose all that ice. Fish were biting real light, but they were biting, had to sort through allot of little ones but we kept 28 specs/perch total for 2 of us.

Brian-

What time of day were you fishing? Did they hit off waxworms or minnows? Thinking about heading up there Monday sometime. With North Blvd closed, what is the best way to get to the north end? PM if you wish.

Thanks in advance!:)

Fished off the causeway today from 830-130. Lake Cadillac still has 12" good ice, caught 19 perch, 11 averaged 6-7". I took my fishing buddy and he caught his first fish through the ice (7" perch)! :D Hits were off minnows and waxworms just off the bottom. Should be good ice for a little while still, might try the east side in the next few days...:)
