Same thing except made by Savage. Grew up using an old HR .410. Will use my 12, .22 mag, or 10/22, depending on what my mood is for the day, but for all around use, the 22/.410 is a fun little gun.

Since I run the boyz almost every day, I use a 10/22, 22 Marlin, .410 shotgun, 22 pistol and many times I don't take a gun. Many times the weapon doesn't leave my shoulder.

Savage Stevens Mod 311 SxS, 20ga, dble triggers, IC / Mod - My first shotgun!!!
I have the exact same gun. It shoots much better than I do. My favorite is an old 20g mossberg 500 pump with a polychoke. Learned to shoot with that gun and used it to take more than half of my deer, and almost all of my rabbits. I don't miss with that stick:evil: !!

Whit, I have a Autoloader that I bought from the neighbor lady a long time ago. It has the polychoke, vent rib and spark arrestor (what ever) on it also. If I had to guess, it was around the mid eighties when I go it. That thing weighs a ton, but does throw a good slug.

For rabbits it my 35 yo 10/22 with open sights so the dog can look at me like 'you can't hit shirt'. As far as dumb things, I wish I still had the single 20 but at 16 yo my parents got me my very own shotshell reloader :D

A polychoke (that was a brand name years ago, but I'm using it as a general, descriptive term) is a "twist" choke where one does not have to change "tubes" whenever a change of pattern is desired.
Yup! My JC Higgins has taken a lot of game, but never a deer.
I love mine. It points and swings like a dream.

Mine favorite isnt a gun, its my Hoyt Gamemaster recurve bow. Took 3 rabbits last sunday with it and do most of my rabbit hunting with a bow. A few times I will use a Ruger 10/22 or my Browning lever action 22lr. And sometimes I just like to watch and listen my dogs run and dont take anything.

I like to use the single shot break barrel Ithaca .410, but that kind of limits your shooting. My all time favorite is identicle to Whit's, it's a 1960 JC Higgins 12 ga pump with the ported polychoke. the poly choke is really nice because you can adjust to the type of shooting you are doing. I usually set my choke out farther for pheasant and much shorter for rabbit. This gun was my grandfathers and was passed down to me from my father, so it has great sentimental value. It's almost like they are out there with me everytime I take it out hunting.

For bunnies I too use a TC w/10" .410 barrel. For squirrels and coon I use a Savage single shot equipped with a Mueller 2x7" red dot scope.
I have to say though that I love my TC. Her name is Lou Lou.;)

My favorite rabbit gun is my H and R Topper .410, funny thing is my 14 year old loves it also. It's a fight as to who is going to carry it when hunting (the loser has to carry a Remington 870 20 ga.
