I am headed out at 5 pm for a 24 hour fish trip. I have heard of other guys doing this in the past and figured I would give it a try. I am packing my fishing gear, an iron skillet, a package of venison tenderloins, water, a few other beverages:eek: , some veggies, and my coleman stove. Well I am off boys in 25 minutes for the bait store. I will post pics and results when I get back. If I can figure out how too post pics again.

Well I only made it 12 hours then I had to come home to take a nap. The fishing for me was terrible. 12 hours and not even a nibble. It was the longest 12 hours I have ever spent on a lake. I think after my nap I am going back to fish the other side of the lake.

Now let me see if I can post my pics

Hey time out lookin'! a 24 hour fishing trip means 24 hours on the water or ice....it can't be done in segments!! ;)

I love this idea though, closest I came was last year. I put two shanties together, put a cot and a big hole in one and my chair and rods in the other. I was on the ice from about 4 PM to about 11 AM the next day! I didn't catch anything!:yikes: I did enjoy it and you talk about relaxing. I thought I'd just lay on the cot in my sleeping bag and jig....two different times I fell asleep for over an hour! I'd have probably slept longer the second time but I woke up from the cold when my propane ran out! That'll make ya grouchy, waking up in the cold like that!

I'd like to do this again this year and might do so....maybe at Wamplers. I'll post if I do! That would be a cool outing for this site....an overnight/two day ice fishing outing! Out in front of Jerry's Pub on Wamplers might be a good/fun spot! Next year anyone?

cool! My neighbor and I talked last weekend while fishing about being out long enough to grill some steaks. I could see, weather permitting, bringing a patio fireplace to have a fire, a grill for steaks, and maybe even a deep fryer out there! Have a few kitties for biggest perch, pike, etc.! It would be a blast!
