Hey all,I'm kinda stealing this thought from another member about another good natured sporting goods store owner, but I figured he wouldn't mind. As many in the Lowell/Saranac area are well aware of,we don't have many options for live bait without a trip to GR or Hilltop in Greenville. Well Sat. evening I opted for the latter although my lake of choice was twenty miles in the opposite direction. Of course I didn't call ahead to check closing times and figured they would be open on a Sat. til 8pm or so.Well,I arrive bucket in hand at 7:35 only to find lights out and closing sign that said 7:00. Luckily for me the owner was staying over doing paperwork, and even though he was on the way out the door,he unarmed the alarm system, turned on the lights, and got me the $3 worth of minnows I needed. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal to most, but try to get that kind of service at a chain store.Good fishin'

It's a pretty cool shop with a generous minnow hand. My first choice for bait.

Yeah I made the 20 mile trip from Lowell too on Saturday. So my $4.50 worth of minnows ended up costing me $10.00 by the time I figured in gas. But what can you do? You gotta have minnows when you go crappie fishing. I agree with Ice T, they are very generous with the minnows, I estimate their 3 dozen minnows are more like 6-7 dozen and their service is always with a smile.
