Well- the first thought I had was that the State could at least have a little more liberal limit!

I didn't have any better luck either. I was down on Lake Erie for two days and we only caught 2 walleye and 1 big white bass. Water was very muddy and rough on sat. afternoon. I wish I would have just stayed home and fished Croton or Hardy Pond would done just as well there probaly. Oh well thats fishing...
GOOD FISHING

A friend and I went up to Black Lake outside of Onaway. WE were fishing by dawn, Only a hand-full of other boats out. We were dressed for ice fishing.25 degrees out, slight wind, cloudy and the best thing we were there. Had the big 0- fer, Pulled rapalas on in-lines, bottom bounced crawler harnesses, jigs with leeches. and combos of all the above.Talked to a couple of the guys who said they each caught a few walleye. When I asked what they caught em on they said, you guest it MINNOWS! The only thing I didnt have. I think thats why its called fishing not cathing.Ill bring minnows next time and they will tell me worms are the ticket!ROTFLMAO!!! Question? Are those creatures [walleye] always that finicky? And do they need 2-3 days of steady weather?

Went to the Tib Saturday morning. We did okay. Between two of us we managed to get 7 walleyes. Biggest two were around 24 and the rest were all over 18".

I took the boat up the Thornapple Saturday morning. Caught two hammerhandles and lost three more, 1 of which was a definite keeper. I threw a chatreuse spinnerbait the entire time and it seemed to do the trick.

Fished hard for 2 days, had a solid 30 walleyes the first day and only managed 17 on sunday. This was for 2 guys fishing. All fish came trolling and we never even took a crawler out of the box. I will never subject myself to fishing at 12:01 am again, as we only took 3 fish in the dark the first night and none the second night. The water on the tib was dirty and higher the second day. Lures needed checking every 3 minutes or you would not get a rip. PS did anyone get to see the 33lbs of walleye that were caught in the river??????? looked kinda funny all hens with eggs still in there stomach. All 0f the fish we caught were cookie cutter 2 to 2.5 lb males. Nothing over 3 lbs.
