Wow!! What an opener. Myself and 3 of my fishing buddys fished the Flint river today. Started at about 12:15 and landed the first fish at 12:16. Clown Husky Jerk was the hot bait. We fished for about 2 hours, and ended up with 19 walleye. Just couldnt get the last one. All the fish were males, not a female in the bunch. Smallest was 18" and the biggest was 28". All were really nice clean fish. This is the first time I have ever got my limit of Flint river walleye. Can't wait to go back tomorrow. :D

vanwagm, now you know I can't tell you where I was:cool: I found this spot last year and had good fishing for about 3 weeks. But I will tell you this. Fish the Flint river anywhere from Montrose to Saginaw, find the rocks and you will find the fish. If you can find the deeper holes use a #12 Rapala Husky Jerk. If you find the rocks and its to shallow to run the Husky Jerk us a floating Rapala. I fish the river from shore. One other thing that works good is a 3/8 oz pink jig head with a glow white tail. Hope this helps a little, good luck and good fishing :)

Ok here is another Flint River report. Fished a new spot last night. Found a nice deep hole and fished it for about 45min. and landed one nice 23" eye. I knew there must be more fish in the hole but just couldnt get any more to hit. Just before dark I moved upstream to a shallow flat. Got 4 more fish before it got dark. I think the eyes where in the the hole and they came out on the shallow flat to feed. My buddy fished the flats the day before and didnt get any thing. I think I will go back tonight and see if I get any thing in the flats an hour before dark, If I dont I will fish the flats at dark and see If my thoughts are right. I will keep you posted....

Fished the same hole last yesterday. Started at 7 PM. Used a # 14 Husky Jerk in the deep hole. No fish, then I used a 3/8 oz. Pink jig with a glow white tail. Picked up two nice fish in the hole. My buddy fished the shallow flats while I was fishing the hole. He didn't get anything to go.. At 8:45 he got his first walleye. I moved up to the shallow flats and in the next 45 min. we landed 6 more nice fish. These walleye must be holding in the deeper water and feeding in the flats at dark. Rapala # 11 FireTiger Floater was the hot bait. We ended up with a total of 9 nice fish the biggest was 24" . Im going to a different spot tomorrow and try the same thing. I will post some pics as soon as I get they developed.
