I live on Anchorbay Dr. and there has been 1 guy that has been working the area right in front of my house over pretty good.
If you go straight out of the boat launch, almost to where the last shanties are and go East till you see a house with triangular shaped windows and a tall flagpole(no flag) and a yellow sea wall, you're at my house! Now fish the canal a couple yards south of that and you're there. I see him bringing in alot of small ones but I'm sure he is getting his share of keepers too.
Thats it for what it's worth, and I'm going to give it a shot this P.M.
For those of you that don't have a machine of some type I will be glad to let you park at my house for a small donation!!!:D
What could be better that parking your car and walking 30 yards and dropping your line. Problem is, I can only accomodate 2 or maybe 3 cars. So first come first serve!!!
P.M. me first. I can't afford to get on bad terms with the neighbors!!!
How's that for a report???

I have fished the spot in front of the yellow breakwall in the past and have done well there. We may be up that way on Saturday. Thanks for the report and the generous offer to park on your property. Al

Ya know after thinking about it, I think the right thing to do would be to let any handicapped fishermen have first shot at the parking. Then those of us with a AARP card and then anyone else!

No problemo! Gilly, I don't know if you remember me due to the fact that I have been off the board for quite awhile. You may remember from a conversation we had here. I thought that you were a friend of mine that I was golfing with at the time. He lived in St. Clair. And every time you made a post I became more and more convinced that you were him. Well anyway It's good to be back!
I guess with the long layoff, I'm back to new guy status!

Like I said fellas...I've been away awhile,
but now that I'm back, I sense a slightly different tone amongst some of the guys. When I left I remember that there was nothing that one member wouldn't do for another.(Well maybe SOME THINGS!!!!!;) )
Anyway good luck and stay warm!!!

There used to be a couple old timers in a small aluminum boat that fished in the canal behind you early every spring. They would anchor right at the end of the canal where the current turned to go under the "first" bridge. The would be there day after day and I never could figure it out.
Another one of our neighbors later told me he had heard they were catching brown trout on minnows all that time! I don't know if they were there the last two years or not....been too busy to be there to look. I do know that I've caught a couple steelhead in that canal in the past though....

Just about everything comes thru there in the spring...Lots of food for them fishies at that time!!! I have never caught a crappie in there though! And that is what I want in the spring. I've never had much luck on crappie in the lake or the bay so any tips would be accepted with glee!

I've caught them in our canal in the late spring on minnnows. They're suspended and you can tell by the way the bobber goes down that its a crappie. I should get out there this week and try our canal...been too darn busy. In the past it used to be good for a dozen perch throughout the day if the current is'nt too strong.
