I am just curious how far the safe ice goes out from brest bay. I followed car tracks out past Stoney Point with my quad but was not brave enough go much past the point on 02-21-07. And by the way, we never marked a fish all day.:fish: I read the post with the pics out from stoney point 30.5 m in 29 feet of water. I find that hard to believe! It must be a typo!!! Thank God for the GPS. We would of never gotten back to the marina. The fog was terrible all day.

You could go out 3 miles last friday. I was out 2 miles and the ice was thicker than thick.
That other post you read...I dont think they went that far on ice. He posted where he fished and he more than likely drove on land around.
they were referring to the fact that they were in ohio off catawba, about 30.5 miles from stony point.

Brest Bay was a blast while it lasted, unfortunately it has been a huge dry spell lately and I feel this weekend is the last for safe one (if that) on Erie. I rented a hotel in Port Clinton for the weekend and will be fishing Catawba Bay Friday and Saturday. Good luck on Brest Bay!
Hotel has internet access, if the bites good and I'm in early will let you know.:fish:
