Great fish!!! I know alot of people dont like to be asked many details when they get into the fish so I will only ask two questions

1. Longitude ________________

2. Latitude __________________

Stoney Point,

You may have been 30.5 miles out of Bolles Harbor. Did you guys run out that far by ice out of Michigan?

I am not sure I would be crazy enough to run the ice that far out of Bolles. I were to guess you guys had flown over to PIB and hooked up with someone with a Fan Boat and fished within a mile or two of South Bass Island (PIB)

That's a hell of a ways out there...regardless of where or how ya got there...nice job..that's a great catch!
I'd love to hear the story though and just curious..how thick was the ice out there?

Wouldn't 30.5 miles put you somewhere off Leamington? :p ;)

Gone Fishing,

As far as the islands go....

PIB is 32 miles from Gibraltar.

Found out the hard way....... You really only cut 2 miles off your run by trailering and launching from the DNR Ramp at LaPlaisance Road in Monroe and running across.

The postitive thing about launching from Monroe is the ride back should the weather blow out of the south or south west. The run back to Monroe would be much better than running a following sea back to Gibraltar.

Ice was 10 to 12 inches. There was some slush spots on the way in.Got the 4 wheeler stuck a couple of times. There was some pressure ridges to cross.Nothing 2 8' 2by10 wouldn't let you cross.
