8 rod ROCKET LAUNCHER that also holds my 55W halogen fishing lights, and my anchor light. One of my fishing partners and I built this a couple of weeks ago. I need to finish sandblasting it to give the S.S. a non glare finish. I also need to set the angle of the holders, when I can get the boat outside and pin it. This set up will pivot down, for garage door clearance, by pulling 2 pins.

I also hope to have time to build a light weight Aluminum engine cover this year. The engine cover also doubles as a table, lure layout, and catch all. LOLhttp://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

Today I'm going to replace my trim and limit senders, as well as 3 rubber bellows, some bushings, and possibly the gimble bearing. Of course everything will be lubricated at this time.

Nice job!!!!

Did you build the hard top as well?....I have a full canvas on my boat and often thought of building a hard top just to make it easier to add a rocket launcher to the roof. The only time the full canvas is on is during the winter. We never use it otherwise. If you did build it post a couple or send me a couple of pics so that we can see it....

Thanks,

Thanks! No it's a factory hardtop on a Starcraft Islander. I saw one SC Islander in Tawas that had a home build HT. The boat belonged to a CG aux member. He did a super job on his. He was fueling @ the Shell Station @ M55 and US23, I did a turn around and talked with him and checked it out. That was before I bought this boat.

I built an arch w/12 rod rocket launcher for my boat a couple years ago. Makes for nice storage of the rods that are not in use or that are stored when not fishing and frolicking with the kids. Definately an asset to have a place to keep things out of the way. I also mounted my planer reels and antenna. Havent gotten my anchor light installed yet but hope to one of these days. It certainly makes a difference.

DD,

That's a nice job on that arch as welll. That's what I need is a place to store rods..I have a 24' boat but it quickly becomes crowded with close to 30 rods and reels and almost as many tackleboxes. I may look into building a hardtop on mine this summer....

That is a nice set up Danger Dan. There is no such thing as too many rod holders.:)
