how do you keep the material flap part on the bottom from sticking to the ice on like an all day sit? Is it something that has to be addressed throughout the day?

Never had this problem and have sat all day more then once. I have had snow and ice stick to the top of the flaps from me putting wet snow/slush from the holes on top.

I have Otter shanties,, I don't even worry about,, I just RIP it up at the end of the day:lol: . I don't have any rips or tears in the material at all,, althought the material is much thicker than the Fishtraps/Clams.

agree with the rest. have fished 5-6 hrs at a shot in single digit temps, never a problem.

Same here, I've had several fish traps and numerous long sits in various conditions and never had a problem.
How frozen in were you????

I've never sat in one spot for that long in a Trap, if they stop bitin I'm flippin the lid & checkin other holes I've drilled to find some & then give em a kneel down & some dabble if they bite I'm moving the Trap to that hole eventually.
