In light of weather for opening day. Maybe a little disscussion on cold front methods would be in order. Anyone want to talk cold front tactics. I'm still going to troll cranks but slow the speed down.

Downsizing your baits might be in order also.

Timdog, I think cold water rules would apply here. Downsize baits and slow down. The shallow running 3 1/2" rattle, minnow baits will be top choice for me. They will give the action you need for slow speeds. Thunderstick jrs, Jr. Rogues, Jerks, and Little Rippers give big fish action at slower speeds. Also instead of long leads run weights no more than a rods length ahead to get to any depth you need. This will hook more fish as well having less line out.

I typically turn to a river. The fish in the river systems are less affected by fronts because the water will maintain a more constant temperature and the barometric pressure seems to affect running water to a lesser degree when compared to still water. They do slow down a little but nowhere near the drastic changes in fish behavior that can be experienced on some lakes.
