I got to the launch at 6:30 and hoofed it. I tried to get to the same area as Saturday. 3 f.o.w. by the barracks. 32 was the number, had to leave by 11:00.
Saw some real hogs that just wouldn't bite. Best lure was a red beaded spoon. I hope the pic comes out ( my first attempt)

You have some nice fish, Do you have a spear? In 3 fow and seeing the hogs that will not bite just scratch there backs with the steel. How was the water clarity?

Hey, thanks Ed. Shadow, I brought a spear with me the only problem was when the school would come in the Hogs were on the bottom below bunches of other ones. Maybe I could spear four or five at once? The water was crystal clear

Read that you hoofed it, that's a lot of hoofen to the barrcks. But it paid off for you, nice catch. If you reread your post, my question is, how was the crack everyone was talking about at the opening?

greelhappy,
There was some water on top , but for the most part it was solid. For how long who knows. Whether walking or riding you have to pick your spot to cross. yellowbelly80, you know it. I felt like I was having a stress test at the hospital. The next time out I'm packing very lite.

Mark,
No cars or trucks that I've seen. I wouldn't risk it personally.

My BIL, nephews and I should be out there near the barracks sometime tomorrow.
Hope our luck is somewhere close to yours.
Thanks for the report.

O.K. thanks. I don't think I want to walk that far. I'll have to see how the rest of the boys did today! I haven't been out this year yet "cause i've been working on a '69 Corvette I'm restoring. You guys think a big boat is a hole in the water, go buy a Classic Car and see how fast your money dissapeers!
But I need a break from all that so I will find some place to throw a bucket down tommorrow!!!
