My son, wife and I fished a lake in Lapeer County this weekend with some decent success. Fishing was never fast but steady, small jigs in glow colors with minnows worked the best. Most of them averaged just over 9 1/2 in and the biggest was 12 3/4 in. Thats the best i've done on crappie in a long time, a GREAT way to spend a weekend!!

Woodie, I have heard that fletchers contains nice crappie numbers. When I lived down state, I would travel for miles and miles to fish. Now I have a shorter leash. I mostly fish very close to Oscoda. I would like to try Fletchers though. There is a boat launch there for access right?
