How long can the ice handle these temps above freezing? I see the forcast has just above freezing for the next week at least. How long will it be before the ice gets unsafe?

As long as the temps get below freezing for a few hours each day, the ice does not erode too quickly. According to Accuweather, that seems to be the forecast for the next 10 days and then there will be a return to below-freezing weather for the remainder of their 15 day forecast, at least for mid-Michigan. IF that is accurate ( ) and IF there is no signifcant rain, I would not be suprised if there is still good ice in most of the state through mid-March.
