Guess we are still on. Have been busy with the FIL situation and haven't spent much time here lately.
How about Metro area. You can park at Crocker, Gino's, or the day sail ramp at metro.
Be on Ch. 7 on your radio's. We can probably centrally locate somewhere out there for the BS and some eats.
Or if anyone has any ideas, please state.
Hope to bring my son and DIL for the day if everything works out.

i jus use 4- 6"lag bolts i have holes in the corners and i jus screw them into the ice

The ice screws have a slit in the grooves top to bottom to help them go in and have a grip on the top. the bolts with the circle work good if you have a rod to put in them. if you get regular lag bolts, don't go to thick 1/4 will do . bring a ratchet out with you once you get them stated they go in just fine. if your shanty is sliding around prior to putting the bolts in place a chunk of wool or glove/sock/carpet under the shanty and put weight on it. good luck

you can also auger another hole upwind bout ten feet from your shanty....take a spare piece of 2x4 with you...a piece of rope .....tie rope to 2x4...push through hole under ice....tie other end to shanty and your not goin anywhere...

I just checked the weather and it is not supposed to get above freezing until after 3pm. There may be some snow in the morning, but I dont think that we will see any real bad weather until later in the afternoon.

:) Ice is still thick as of Noon today. Clear hard ice 12 to 18 inches. trucks all over the place. I saw one at least 1 1/2 mile out. I'd leave my truck on shore in-case it turns to rain. I don't see that happening but you never know. and YEP the fish are still biting .. Ramps are in good shape. Lot is half empty:)
PS they did have a dnr officer at the ramp giving out coupons for people riding double;) Lucky he was all into paper work when I went by. I'll be pulling my trailer out tomorrow to avoid that mess.
I wonder If I backed my atv on the ice if I would need a off road sticker or a MC sticker. gray area I think.

Yeah, i think i'm out. Already got my meal, so, will probably wait until the weather breaks. I don't care about the snow/sleet, the wind is what kills you, east at up to 30+ mph, i think i will wait :dizzy: . Who knows, might end up going out, but, i have to drive quite ways, not fun when the roads are a mess.

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what the fine is for riding double on a quad?????
So it is against the law to have two people on a quad, but it is ok to be pulling someone in a sled behind the quad????
I checked the ATV forum and could not find the info I needed.
Thanks.
BTW: Really wanted to attend the outing but we were fishing up in Anchor Bay....nice day out there yesterday, huh? :D
