But one question drill all the way till it gets to the end and then it jams up the last turn does anyone know why???? is there a way to fix this problem???? trust me i can live with it if I have to but just wondering????

It happens every time I drill a hole. Never understood why. I usually just punch it through at the end.

Happens to me too, not sure why.

Congrats on your new lazer!
Depending on the type of ice I think it happens more often than not even with my gas auger.
With my lazer I call it the "Almost There Stroke":)
Usually when I get there and it hangs up, I backstroke it a 1/4 turn and then finish it off.

It happens when the blade first cuts through the ice, and gets wedged under the ice in front of it. Steeper the cut angle, the more likely it will happen.

Nothing you can really do. It happens to me about 50% of the time. Just gotta give it a little extra muscle:D

I have an older hand me down lazer auger and it works great but the paint is coming off it. I am noticing that it is getting rusted. Should I just sand it down a bit and paint it? Any suggestions on the type of paint?

I've had mine for 10 years and have touched it up a couple of times in the basement.
I just sanded it down and brushed on some hi gloss rustoleum enamel using a disposable foam bush.
It doesn't take much, so buy the smallest container you can find.

7 in.... auger, i can live with it...... because my mora cut nice just takes for ever....... which that is a 8 in auger..... shaves the ice but 100 turns later and I am thru this new lazer is great.... i just hate getting the motion going and then bam stop.... but it is still much nicer then the mora... i will never buy one of those again....

I am glad you guys with lazers are having that same problem with breaking through the bottom of the ice. I thought it was just my HT Arctic Express Auger. My HT cuts alot better than my Mora 5" ever did. It was about $30 less than the comparable lazer.

A little tid bit for those who don't know, do not smack your blades down in the hole or on top of the ice. It will bend the blades in which will not cut as fast or at all. Had to learn the hard way couple of years back and replace the blades. They're not the cheapest things. Just my 2 cents.

I have the eskimo version of the lazer (barracuda) and it does the same thing. 6" size and same blades as lazer, but a little cheaper. Hate those little covers that keep falling off that are suppose to protect the blades, so I did something to take care of that. Some thin wall and piece of wood screwed to bottom with couple slots for bungee:D

I would think if you ease off on the pressure a bit after you know you broke thru, (the water will ley you know) skim the ice that last little bit should work. That being said, here's what I do. I always take a back up spud, for opening old holes and a just incase power or hand auger won't work. Then when i'm about to break thru( you can hear that different hollow sound) I simply pull the hand auger out and finish the last inch or so with the spud. I have a 8"r. and it's really tough that last 2 or 3 inches. Works for me.
