Long or short shaft ?

He is looking for a new ,electric start, 4 stroke,35 hp or so , and would like to know what brands folks have had good experiences with . As far as price, the best price for the best motor for him. He has a 15', deep ,and wide aluminum boat. D Buck

Had the chance to use a electric start Yamaha 15 last summer at a fishing lodge and found it to be an excellent motor, easy start, runs fine, just miss the smell of the old Mercury two stroker in the morning... My 2 cents...

Try www.iboats.com (http://www.iboats.com) The only thing is you have to have it shipped to a business of some sort to save on the shipping. preferrably one with a fork lift to unload it off the truck. A buddy bought one from them and was very happy. they have everything from 2-300hp and every manufacturer. Good Luck

First, second and third choices: Honda.

Shop online. I ordered a new 9.9hp from a marina in Minnesota, got a very good deal compared to what I was being quoted locally.

buy a HONDA--clean,quiet,easy starting--AND plenty of power --i went from a 2-stroke merc to a 150 honda last year on our new rig and am just thrilled with the performance--:you can troll all the way down to 1.8mph w/o drift bags or you can take it all the way up to 48-49 mph--you oughta see the sh** eatin' grin my wife gets when she puts the hammer down and that boat gets up on plane:dizzy: :yikes: :D :D :D

heck yes i'm serious--when she told me that we needed a bigger boat and that she'd kick in on the downpayment and monthly payment all i had to say was ------------WHAT COLOR DO YOU WANT, HONEY????-----------------   --- on a more serious note, she's got plenty of boating experience runnin' a 13' whaler and a 24' searay up and down the SCR near marine city--and as ESOX can attest,i'm one lucky sumbuck--besides if i didn't let her drive she might kick my ***

there is a marina down by the ohio border, about 4 miles north in michigan that has the best deals on mercury period. also he is the biggest seller of mercs year after year. if you wait and buy the year old model ie. 2006 versus 2007 you get big $$$$$$$$$$ savings. i did on my 15hp bigfoot 1700.00$ back in 2000. its called erie bay harbor marina3138484550 fax 313 8488884 7120 summit street
