here is a link to a map 4 u

there is a little used public access that is pretty much kept mum because there are no signs, at the end of Stolt Rd....at the very north end of the west arm
parents had a place on the lake and ii fished it for 15 years, but never through the ice, until last year...
during the day, we targeted rainbows via tip ups (our first try for them ever) and managed to catch one 22"er in about 12 feet of water, 2 feet below the ice, pretty much straight off that launch, while we were set up in the shanty a little deeper jigging for perch and walleye (didnt catch any)...at dusk we moved to deeper water 50 to 60 feet and set up for smelt...four hours yeilded nothing and we never marked any on the Vexilar
im sure they are in there somewhere...ive heard stories about them...but i would suggest Crystal lake for the smelt if you can go there....that lake is loaded with them and you can catch them easily just about anywhere in the lake in about 45 to 50 FOW....we ice fished that last year for the first time as well....lots of big smelt...some were 9 inches...there are also some beautiful perch in there that can be caught during the day at the same depth....we're headed up March 2-4 and we are not doing Waloon this year...Crystal is 10 times better....if u want details on my limited Crystal knowledge pm me
maybe JJ Mac will respond 2 this thread and help you out on the Waloon smelt...he lives up there and keeps up on whats going on
