Reeds Lake

Went to Reeds this morning, fished from 08:00 until noon, got a limit of crappie in 36 ft. of water. Caught all fish came on 1/8 oz. Northland Forage Minnow with red spikes.

Do you use the Forage Minnow jig(one piece) or the spoon with trebble?

i took a limit of crappie from reeds today as well. fished from noon-3pm. spikes and a teardrop. VEXILAR

Excellent! Sounds like things are heating up. I'll be out there sometime this weekend. Hopefully during the day; the late night trips make for a long following day!

I use the Forage minnow spoon with a treble hook, put 1 spike on each of the hooks, you go through a little more bait but you can usually catch 5 or 6 fish before you have to add to it, then just replace the one that's missing.

Anyone getting any perch or gills out there? The last few times I have tried it pretty slow. Also no Vex.

It's just like Walleye on Muskegon last fall, I'm fishing when others are either working or sleeping and working and sleeping when you are fishing.:lol: I have to work tonight from 06:00 pm to 06:00 am, so I won't be out tomorrow either.:sad: I was out today with my son , we only got 14 with the 2 of us, but you had to be in a shanty most of the time because of the wind ,so I didn't move to much, I did get most of them ouside the shanty, then go in to warm up. Next week it should warm up a little:D

I did great on the perch on Thursday. Caught 20 in the hour I was out there. Got a bite every time I put my jig in the hole. It was a stroke of seeing as I have no vexilar and found fish in the first hole I drilled. They're sitting right on the bottom. Try using red spikes if you can get your hands on them.
