Hi Folks
Thought I would give are cross border friends an update on ice & snow conditions.
The ice in Cooks Bay in the South is "18" and the snow is about a foot deep still good going on atv ideal for snowmobile.
To the north of Cooks bay on west side the ice varies from "13" to "7" in spots out by long shoal and the Islands. The snow gets deeper as you travel north from '1' to '2' out by the shoal the wind is packing it down some and travel by atv is a little tricky in spots with some slush .
The fishing from Cooks bay to the North has been exceptional this year but alot of sorting, it seems like we had a good spawn of perch this year. The ususal minows bugs small tackle light line all working well.
I had a group up from Michigan last week and one of them caught a Trophy Walleye "30" in length and a wopping 14.5 :yikes: lbs caught on a minow in 24 fow using 4lbs test fire line and an "8" hole and also managed to land some really nice perch a couple over 14.5 inches in length.
Anyway hope this helps and good luck.
Regards Dusty
