forums speed

Has anybody noticed a slow down in the forum speed over the last couple of days? I have but am wondering if its just my connection.

It's been taking FOREVER to load up.

Hmmm, they seemed a little faster to me today after I did some trimming down of the messages.

Yes, I know we are still having problems, and I am still trying to resolve them. I removed the feature that showed how many people were in the campfire that was on every forums page. We may have to remove the who is online feature as well, (allthough I'd really hate to do so), if we can't get our host to boost our speed up a bit.

Well I don't think that's the real problem either. It seems there are some nodes on the internet between MI and CA that are reacting very slowly at times. I will put that feature back in just as soon as we can get this speed thing fixed.

A suggestion to increase speed is to go into your preferences and change the "display topics from" to something like the last 20 or 30 days. If you force it to go too far back, it will slow things down. I reaching for anything I can to keep these forums moving.

Apparently our host is experiencing some problems and they are in the process of upgrading some of their servers, hopefully including the one we are on. Please bear with us while we try to work this out with them. You may have to hit re-load a few times to get a page up.

Do the forums seem any faster today to anybody else? They seem to be operating at warp speed at least for me this afternoon.
