Have not been for a few years but stearns always held alot of specs. I wouls see them in the spearing shack. I always used the shore opposite the parking lot on the north side near the corner where the bayou heads farther back.
Good luck

I have fished both bayous alot but I never fished for crappie on either of them. I see a few peolpe on millhouse at night fishing for crappie and heard once and a while they do good. As for gills I think you just have to find a good spot when I have went out on millhouse you allways have to sort there. Sterns is really good for gills when you can find them I have heard of many limits caught out there. Use a small pink teardrop those usually work good along with the normal stuff for gills and you dont allways have to go deep I have caught them in 2-3 feet if that and you can kind of sight fish. On sterns I go to the very back usually, I see alot of guys fishing the first west cut in by the bridge try the second one further back. Good Luck

hey, i forgot to mention, this past sunday we were on millhouse and all a sudden the vex went red bottom 4 ft. dropped camera down to find massive school of what appeared to be whitefish. hundreds. never fished for them, but they didnt seem to be interested in waxies or spikes. someone told me wigglers worked on very small jig. has anyone dode any good on millhouse for whitefish?

NO, I have never seen any whitefish out there. I think those were large golden shiners or something. Were they big?

seemed to be 10-12" hard to say on aquaview. i know they were not small like a shiner. had some views with bluegill in same pic and the fish in question was substantially bigger.

shad? sheepshead? white crappie? They aren't whitefish-- but those are the only other possibilities that come to mind at this time.

Schools of golden shiners. There is another post about this also (Fish Identification) check that one out mabye that will help. But I know there is no whitefish in there and if they didnt bite anything probaly golden shiners.

Those bayous always get a run of some type of shad. They are up to about 14" not sure where they come from but they show in Feb and the big female lake run pike usually show shortly after. They look like a giant gizzard shad

Chances are good that if they were white bass, you'd have had your limit. They eat like mad, especially once one is hooked. Feeding frenzy action, but they taste like poo . . .

White bass, that would be my guess
