This is a question for the authorities,

Obviously, WI has CWD and they are scrambling to test as many deer as possible.
What I find curious, is how CWD was transported to WI. If it is possible that CWD was carried east on the carcass of a harvested elk or mulie from out west....then it is entirely possible that it has been carried here to Michigan the same way.

I believe that the only CWD tests being conducted on our deer are the ones harvested from the TB area. I don't believe deer are tested for CWD anywhere else.

Bow season is 5 months away.

So here is my question for the authorities:

Is the Michigan D.N.R. implementing a voluntary head turn in this fall to test a random sample of deer harvested across Michigan?

I would much rather my $1.00 go towards this statewide testing program rather than helping farmers build more fences.
I would happily pay much more for a license if I knew the extra proceeds would be used for a CWD "monitoring and prevention" testing program.

How many deer hunters in here would choose to donate a head for testing?

Anything like this in the works?

The plans at this time is there are certain counties throughout the state where the biologists will be doing collecting/testing for CWD but it will not be in every county.
